WORK IN PROGRESS

I managed to get a little more done on this piece. You can probably see where it's going. It is progressing slowly because I haven't had much time for it between commissions, but that has been kind of satisfying in its own way.

I've been here and there. I've drawn a lot of pictures. I've written a bit, too. I'm not good at this self-promotion thing. Look, you want to know about me? just visit these websites. Okay?

CAVEGIRLS

This has been a week for finishing stuff that's been hanging around.

I started this about a year and a half ago with an eye towards entering it into a contest. The contest deadline came and went and this hung around unfinished. I would pull it up now and again, make minor adjustments and then abandon it again.

This morning I took another whack at it and after about an hour I decided it was done. Time to move on to something new.

TOMB OF THE AMAZON QUEEN

UPDATE: I forgot to mention that this is an illustration for a story called The Tomb of the Amazon Queen by Michael Ehart. which was published in Dark Worlds #3. The story was a Harper's Pen Award nominee and Ehart is a fantastic writer. Even Michael Moorcock says so!

VELVET ASSASSIN

A fairly impractical outfit for an assassin. She wouldn't exactly be unnoticed (unless her target was at the Playboy Mansion). She'd be able to move quietly, though I'd hate to think where she would have had to hide the knife.

This image just came into my head, as impractical as it is, and I had to get it out.

Comments welcome.

Married to the Wind

Here is the latest piece I am working on. It is unfinished and it has been a challenge. The most important element, the piece that is missing, is the veil. I want it to float up and fill the space. Getting the gauzy nature of the veil right has been tricky. Getting it to billow correctly has also been a challenge.

When the veil is in place I am going to put stars in the sky. I want to be able to see them twinkling through the translucent veil.
